To maintain the pond’s water quality, protect our wildlife, and promote community fellowship by organizing social gatherings, creating educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and work towards meeting regularly to provide a voice to all members while maintaining camaraderie
The board is comprised of 5 individuals with a rotating term schedule. In the Fall 2016, a group of owners headed by Cindy Ronning, gathered at Camp Runels and chose an acting board. In May 2018, the current Bylaws and Board were voted in by the membership.
Joost has been on Little Island Pond since 2011 and loves life around the Pond. Joost loves the natural setting of LIP, loves nature, has been a member of a number of environmental groups like Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club and others and is a big supporter of our National Park system. Joost was born and raised in Holland, where water has a major impact on people’s lives. Joost grew up in an old town in Holland, situated where the Rhine and Maas (aka Meuse) come together and he has the water in
Leanne is a 4th generation Little Island Ponder and has spent her entire life here. She loves all water sports and wants to keep the pond pristine and healthy for generations to come. Leanne joined LIPA because she wants to create a sense of community, by providing educational opportunities and events for neighbors of Little Island Pond.
Pete is a third generation Bajor on Little Island Pond. He has always been passionate about monitoring and protecting the Pond water quality. Pete’s passion for water quality extended into his 40+ year career as an Environmental Engineer/Operations Specialist in the water and wastewater treatment fields protecting people and the environment. He loves to feel the wind in his face while motorcycling, snow skiing, sailing, snowmobiling, water skiing and bicycling.
Updating Bio
Bruce and his family rented a cottage on Grace Road in the 1980s and 1990s before purchasing a cottage on South Shore Drive. Bruce enjoys being outside maintaining his property. Having shared the joys of recreating on the pond with his two sons; he now enjoys introducing his two grandsons to canoeing, rowing, kayaking, motor boating, fishing, and swimming. Bruce is interested in the long-term health of the pond, as well as its safe utilization by all residents.
The directors are assigned a primary focus area, as well as being a part of the decision making process for the committee's endeavors.
Updating Bio
Judi's family has owned property on Little Island Pond for 76 years. Judi, herself moved to the Pond full time about 4 years ago. Her main objective is to preserve the quality and clarity of the water and surrounding land for her family now and in the future, as her relatives did for her.
Joan has been a resident of the Pond since 2011 and enjoys all the benefits of year round waterfront living, especially the wildlife. Joan and Joost want to do everything possible to insure the quality of our water and preserve our
beautiful natural resource to benefit future generations. Their property contains one of the access easements, so working together with other residents of Little Island Pond has been a fun, fulfilling and rewarding experience.
Bob purchased property on Little Island Pond in 2018 and is enjoying the quiet and relaxing Pond atmosphere with his wife and family. Bob is interested in the overall water quality and preservation of the natural resources for the continued enjoyment of all. Bob's professional experience includes 30+ years in the software industry and also teaches Computer Science courses at Boston University.
